HLC Mindlinx Powder provides five strains of proprietary human-sourced probiotics that promote optimal intestinal health. Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria are the most commonly used probiotics and effectively colonize the intestines. Probiotics reinforce the epithelial barrier and mediate intestinal permeability via controlling tight junction integrity. Although the microflora composition in the gut is relatively steady, it can be altered by diet, stress, age, and medication use. Probiotics promote the presence of beneficial bacteria to support normal intestinal function. In a randomized, placebo-controlled trial involving 155 adults, daily intake of a probiotic supplement providing 25 billion CFU (containing two strains each of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium) for 21 days significantly and positively affected the intestinal microbiota. Fermentation of prebiotics - including FOS - supports the growth of beneficial bacteria in the colon and can result in the production of short chain fatty acids, including butyrate, the preferred energy source of colon cells.

I've ordered the product in the past, and I was very please with the fact that the product was shipped quickly in a cold pack. The cold pack helped to ensure the quality of the product. However, my last order arrived at my door hot--it was packed in the cold pack, but the shipping was so slow that the packaging had become a hot, insulated oven-like cocoon. I took the package directly from the UPS delivery person, so it wasn't like it was sitting on my front porch all day. But it definitely had been sitting in a hot truck or wearhouse for several days. (It had been in the 80s/90s for the past few days in my area.) I'm not sure if the product is viable at all. I'm very disappointed.I like this product, this is the second bottle i've bought although I have not finished the first bottle but I've seen lot of improvement and I will buy again.i purchased this for my two children as it is easy to dose since it is a powder and because it comes highly recommended for children. they do not have any issues, but i like to give them this every once in a while even though they love their kefir and grass fed yogurts.
