I thought that it was a tad expensive at first but as soon as I got the package and looked at the box I said "That's it?!" it looked small. Once I opened the box, the contents were a vacuum sealed bag of tea, another empty mylar bag that is resealable, a brochure about the tea and a sticker label for the empty bag with the tea info on it. I opened the package and I immediately noticed how amazing the tea smelled! I have fresh boxes of Twinning's and Bigelow earl grey tea and this is by far stronger than the other two. I couldn't even smell the twinning's compared to this tea. The leaves swell in size once boiled for 3-4 minutes and I use just a glass teapot I bought on Amazon. The flavor is amazing, I've had a pot of tea every day since I bought it and couldn't be happier. I transferred less than a 1/3rd of the tea to the resealable bag and used my vacuum sealer to reseal the original bag but I don't think I needed to since I'm sure I'll go through it in no time.Amazing Earl Grey tea with fantastic aroma and flavor. I've grown disappointed in my usual sources (Bigelow and Twinning's) and thought that I'd try something different for my morning cup of tea. The product came in a vacuum sealed package and the box contained a second, ziplock-type, Mylar bag for routine storage and easy access. Historically I've used tea bags, but I have the hardware to make the transition (a simple tea infuser), so the loose leaf is no problem.I recommend this tea to any other Earl Grey fans out there. I'll give the Chai mixture a try as winter rolls around.We have always found any vahdam tea we ordered to be full flavored and robust.We are a long time customer of vahdam teas because they fill our orders quickly and they arrive on time and the full rich flavor is dependable.Update 2018-02-09 Vahdam teas are my daily beverage, all day long, now that i quit drinking coffee and alcohol. Bei richtiger Zubereitung schmeckt er auch hervorragend. Gerade mit etwas Milch eignet er sich super zum Einkuscheln und Entspannen an kälteren Tagen.Zwei Dinge sind jedoch anzumerken, wesewegen ich nicht fünf Sterne gegeben habe.Erstens: der Vanille Geruch ist extrem stark und riecht nicht wirklich natürlich. I also have experience with matcha. We both believe there’s a taste of cinnamon to it. I can’t taste any vanilla, but the authentic taste of matcha is not there, it has completely changed the taste.My delivery arrived and the product was extremely warm. I don’t know why but perhaps this has effected the quality of the product.It’s drinkable I suppose, but don’t expect grade A taste.Purtroppo devo rilevare come il prodotto sia pesantemente peggiorato nel tempo. L'ho comprato diverse volte e fino al 2019 era molto buono,con il gusto di vaniglia che ricordava esattamente la bacca, come se usassero la polvere di bacca macinata mischiata al matcha. Dal 2020 ad oggi è invece cambiato pesantemente il gusto della vaniglia: dal gusto sembra che adesso venga usato un estratto idroalcolico di vaniglia, tipo le fialette di aromi artificiali per dolci.Nel 2020 avevo concesso il beneficio del dubbio: pensavo fosse legato al lockdown e alla difficoltà di reperire bacche di vaniglia o polvere freschi, ma la stesso cosa si è ripetuta con una busta appena presa (2021). Fatto in questo modo è imbevibile: il profumo della polvere sarebbe buono, ma una volta sciolto in un liquido esce tutto il gusto chimico e coprente della vaniglia. Ho aspettato a segnalarlo pensando fosse un caso isolato, ma invece si conferma essere il nuovo gusto di questo matcha.Allo stato attuale, non è un prodotto da bere: al massimo può finire in un impasto o in qualche preparazione culinaria che con la cottura possa eliminare la componente chimica.I ordered this as I thought it may be better to have a vanilla matcha powder as opposed to a matcha + vanilla syrup in my latte, but the taste was kind of odd, I don't know how to explain it, stale maybe? Grassy? Earthy? Unsweetened? It left a taste that put me off drinking it alone so I ordered some vanilla syrup to go with it which is much better and drinkable now, but kind of defeats buying a flavoured powder. Its no Starbucks matcha, but not sure why I was expecting it to be. The packaging was significantly smaller than I expected, but then I guess you don't use much of it per serving. Won't purchase this one again, sorry
