Larger in size and great quality.Decoration in my farmhouse style kitchen. So I ordered from the warehouse and was not told there was a dent. I got it for such a good deal I kept it anyway, but, they do need to have better quality control and not let these things happen. I frequently order from the warehouse to save money and most items arrive in the condition Amazon lists them in, but this one slipped past inspection with a dent. It works as it should though and is just beautiful in color. I love how big it is and spaghetti does not slip through the holes which was a big concern of mine.Just love itIt was unclear to me how big (or small) the 1.5 qt. size would be. The product measurements included the handles, which accounts for 2” of the diameter across the top. It’s listed as 9.5” but it’s actually only 7.5”. I was only using this for a fruit bowl, and not one that’s heavily used either. Bananas barely fit in it, if that helps anyone else looking to buy this for that purpose. The next size up is doubled, a 3qt, and I thought that might be too much for me. Looking back, it might actually have been about the normal fruit bowl size. I don’t use it to drain anything nor wash it up frequently so I can’t speak to those aspects of durability, but it does feel sturdy.I wanted to love this. I spent the extra money on what I thought was a high quality strainer as an investment, in something that would last for years. 2 or 3 uses later it’s starting to crack and rust on the underside, in the seam where the base meets the bowl. I follow all the directions, I hand wash, no dishwashing! My camera isn’t great it looks worse in person, but you can see the edge is turning brown and starting to peel. And with ceramic coated items, once this starts, it’s usually a steady downward path to the whole thing becoming like this. Of course I am outside the Amazon return window because I didn’t use it for a while after I got it. So upset, such a waste of money.Wow!What a great punch of true crayon color orange just for fun:)The shiny silver handles and trim really add to the Happy!Don’t think will be using it to drain any… anything. It is very small.I like it. Kind of expensive for - well. If you need a colander, you may need more than 1 quart.Does appear to be sturdy and durable and is probably - well -tricky to clean. Most colanders are. They - um - have a lot of little holes….If I had any sense I’d return it. I really need a ..No matter. I wonder how many reviews I have written where I ponder out loud: when will I begin to read item descriptions and admit the possibility that numbers really do count and that size might be as important,or even more important.than all the pretty colors.Sigh.The bright little orange colander will look great just sitting …next to my brave little yellow toaster …Put a can of soda next to orange for reference. Seems to help.I bought this about 2 years ago. Used it probably weekly, mostly for pasta. Now it's starting to chip and rust. 2 years isn't too bad, I guess. But I have stainless steel colanders from well before I bought this one that have no rust.I've been collecting the Swan Retro range of kitchen goods in their happy yellow colour, and wanted a retro colander too, but could only find boring beige and a couple of blue ones here in the UK. Then I saw this one in a lovely vibrant yellow, so spent way more than is sensible for this one from the USA. And, as you can see from the photo, it matches perfectly and imho just looks so nice. I tend to live my life by the William Morris quote, “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.” and this little colander, I have to say, is BOTH of those things. It's the size advertised and promised even with the stand. That looks like it takes up a lot of the item, but it doesnt. But the colour. Wow, it's a yellow yellow. A gorgeous colour. Very happy with performance, style... Definitely get a second... ?Nicely built, sturdy colander. Smaller than I would have liked and the colour slightly less vivid than depicted but no complaints. Its not cheap but it is a quality product.I can't underestimate how thrilled I was with this colander. Sturdily constructed, traditional style, the right size - but it was the colour that sent me beyond practical appreciation alone ; it is a joy!Gorgeous colour & size. Exactly what I was looking for.
